1.What is mystery shopping?

Mystery shopping is a tool used to monitor and measure brand’s customer experience.   You will visit the store, portraying as normal customer, inquire for a product or service.  Your role as a mystery shopper is not to judge but to share your objective observation of what had happened during your store visit.   

Depending on each assignment, you will be given instruction as in what to observe within the store. It could be store appearance,  merchandise visibility, or staff’s attitude and product knowledge.

 

2. Evaluator or Mystery Shopper? Who am I?

While at KORE, we respectfully refer our mystery shopper as KORE evaluator.

 

3. Who can become a KORE evaluator?

Anyone who is 18 years old and above. 

  

4What are the must-have qualities of our evaluators?

You are the eye to our client – and thus your quality, objective reporting is extremely crucial.  We certainly do not require anyone who has a PHD in customer service,  however we put tremendous emphasis on the following qualities while selecting evaluators to fulfill our clients’ projects:

  • Being objective in the store observation.   Your role is to document what had happened at the store during your visit, and not your subjective emotion towards product, services or store staff.
  • Being able to follow instructions and accurately conduct evaluations. Our paperwork is detailed and the specific observations you'll need to make are outlined and explained clearly.
  • Being reliable -  if you accept an assignment, we expect that you will honour your agreement, and fulfill the assignment with commitment, within the deadline.
  • Being timely – you must be able to report responses in a timely and efficient manner so that our clients may use the information promptly for immediate actions.
  • Being contactable -  our project team will reach you for project training or post-visit follow up on the report findings. Therefore it is extremely important that we could easily reach you during the day/week.

 

5.What resources do I need to be a evaluator?

6.How will I be offered visits/ a mystery shopping assignment?

Our Project Team will assign evaluators based on client’s specific demographic requirement such as age, gender etc., as well as your past reliability record with us.

 

Therefore it is very important that you complete the KORE sign up form with as much details as possible.   

 

KORE in-house online system allows us full transparency on evaluator’s past records in terms of how well they did in the past evaluations – are those evaluations accurately reported and timely delivered?    Therefore, our Project Team will schedule the shop visit based on your credibility too.

 

7.Do visits have to be completed at a certain time on a certain date?

You may apply for shop visit schedule that fits yours, of course.   On each client’s assignment, specific date/time details will be indicated in the project announcement.

 

8.How will I know what to do?
Our online orientation program will introduce you to your new role as a Mystery Shopper. Orientation is an online interactive learning program that teaches you how to be a Mystery Shopper. It simulates what you will need to do in an evaluation.   You will be provided a basic training on mystery shopping as well as project-specific  assessment (if applicable).

  

9.How long does each Mystery Shopping evaluation take?
Depending on the project complexity, a normal store visit itself usually takes about 20-25 minutes. Before you do your evaluation, you should allow ample time to read the assignment guidelines and instructions thoroughly to familiarize yourself with the scenario and questionnaire. Reporting the results online can take another 15 to 30 minutes.

 

10.When do I have to submit my report? And how?

Within the 24 hours from the store visit, you will need to submit your report to us via our online system.

 

11.What should I do if there are problems with my visit?

Rule #1 do never panic!

It might happen that a certain store which you are supposed to visit today, closed down.  What you shall do is collect as much information such as proof, to shows that the store is no longer valid for visit, and report the information back to our Project Team.

It might be case where the store’s staff was teasing / suspecting if you are a mystery shopper.   When you encounter such condition, do never ever expose your identity as mystery shopper/ evaluator.  

 

12. Do I need to provide Proof of Visit (POV)?

Absolutely.     A report submitted without any supporting POV will not be accepted and paid for.

 

13. How much will I get paid?

It depends on the project complexity and requirement.    A specific compensation will be indicated on each project announcement.

 

14.How soon can I join as an evaluator?
